Woman Hating by Andrea Dworkin
1.5
dark reflective tense fast-paced

The first few chapters were interesting and had some good points, but when she started making up facts about the witch trials and the "Old Religion" in Chapter 7 (trust me, I have a postgraduate degree in magic and occult sciences where I studied the history of witchcraft)- it was clear she was relying on sources from Wiccan authors at the time that completely fabricated their own history, therefore erasing and appropriating from other cultures. Wow, I thought it couldn't get worse but it DEVOLVED and she ended the book with an endorsement of practices such as bestiality, incest, and other things I don't even want to mention because they are very icky and horrific! I literally wrote "NO NO NO GROSS" in the margins. Very yucky!!! Also some of the facts she presents in this book don't seem to check out, so I would definitely double-check the information before you cite her writing as a source or use it elsewhere.
Overall, there are a LOT of other books you can read if you would like to learn about feminism! I wouldn't recommend this one.
