I’m still not sure what to make of this book. I did enjoy it but I think I expected something a little different.
I liked the start of the book - six friends attempt to recapture their youth by going to a 90s music festival but something goes wrong & they’re left with a dead body. However, it’s after this that I lost interest. It’s now a year later and it felt like the pacing & excitement had dropped away. The repeated flashbacks to the 90s feel forced & awkward. Even with the mysterious occurrences around the friends & them being picked off one by one, I never really felt engaged with the story or connected to the characters. I will admit that the ending was something that had me shocked/ it was good but by the time I reached it, the payoff was almost not worth it.
