Classic Love Poems by Andrew Marvell, Robert Browning, John Keats, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, George Eliot, William Shakespeare, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Edgar Allan Poe, Christopher Marlowe, Percy Bysshe Shelley, Alfred Tennyson, Lord Byron

3.0

It's an excellent audio book. The reason why I am not rating it higher is in the nature of poetry itself: poems, especially love poems are at their best when you stumble upon them in the right mood - when they feel most relevant and relatable. A collection of poems, especially united by such a theme, is harder to process in one sitting - the sentiments start to seem repetitive or even shallow or trite, when poems from different authors on the same subject are read one after another. It devalues somewhat the strength of feelings from which these poems (presumably) originated.

Verdict: Great audio narration, but poor editorial choice for a collection.
