A Cowboy to Remember
by Rebekah Weatherspoon
A couple days ago, I was picking up my ereader in the evening and my husband said “what was that book you’re reading? Something to do with cowboys? The title made me laugh.”
I told him, and he did laugh and say “that’s awesome.”
Now, my husband doesn’t read romance, but he is a nerd who understands nerd business. To him, “I’m reading a romance and this one has cowboys in it” is equivalent to “I’m reading an epic fantasy and this one has a lot of orcs.”
Today, I said “you remember the cowboy book? It’s not as exciting as I hoped. It’s full of nice people being nice to each other and making thoughtful decisions.”
My husband said, “well, that has to be somebody’s kink.”
Conclusion: if nice, low-conflict romance is your catnip, you will probably enjoy this one. If, like me, you find that stuff great in real life (please see the above picture of domestic bliss for reference), but kind of dull on the page, you might want to give it a miss.
