Heart wrenching prequel book. We finally get critical backstory on key characters, and it sets up future books for maximum emotional destruction. I was an emotional wreck the entire time. Seeing Celaena as her cocky self after the end of Heir of fire was like seeing an old friend. The contrast really highlighted her growth. She is consistently a girl’s girl and a good friend. I love her so much.
