The Tudor Crown by Joanna Hickson

4.0

The life of Henry VII has always fascinated me, and this book gives an interesting insight into it. From his mother, Margaret Beaufort, a formidable, interesting, and often unfortunately overlooked or villanised woman, to Henry himself, his childhood, his family, and his eventual reclamation of the English throne in the name of the House of Tudor, this novel is, although occasionally overly descriptive, a brilliant one. Engaging and entertaining, a must-read for anyone who enjoys Medieval English history, or for anyone that wants to learn more about the history that shaped the country.
