Our Yellow Tape Letters by Caitlin Miller

This book took me on kind of a roller coaster.
At the beginning of the book, I couldn't get into the writing and I didn't even think I was going to finish it because I didn't really care about the characters or the writing.
But the next time I picked it up I read more than half of the book. In one sitting.
Because I started to care about the characters, mainly Jeremiah but also Lucy. I loved reading Jeremiah's story of finding a home in the army and the brother he never had. Seeing him go through the war and how much he changed was sooo good and inspiring.
The writing still got a little annoying at times, only because I am the type of reader who doesn't like metaphors and there were a lot of ill-placed ones. I knew if a person was in the situation that the character was in that they wouldn't be thinking of metaphors... and that's one thing that is kind of a writer/reader spet peeve of mine.
Overall, 4 star read.
The way christianity and the characters' faith was shown in this story was so real, the story seemed mostly accurate (if anything, I would just say some of the wording didn't quite fit the time but nothing that took me out of the book), and the characters arcs were very beautiful!
Would definetly recomend <3
