I didn't expect much about this book, but it already gave me a tearjerker at the beginning. However the thing about tearjerkers, if the passages are being repeated over and over again, it just makes you feel like you're in a spiral of torture.
After 1/3 of the book, I don't really care about anyone anymore. I just want to get over it. I really have to drag myself reading the pages. But I thought, since it's a bit of a fantasy maybe a plot twist or a revalation would happen? Or atleast a bit of new information from the lore of the call - but nothing.
Until the end, it was disappointing. I really tried. I really tried to read, understand, and like it - because the concept is so uniquely good. I just wish, there's more to this than Julie's whining.
