2025 reread thoughts:
I took a more leisurely pace for this reread, and WOW a lot of things I remember happening in this book are only within the last ~150 pages or so, like past the 90% mark. In hindsight after Wind and Truth, I can see it being a lot of build up to that book... which is also build up to the back half. I think the Urithuru plots are probably the strongest here, though Adolin is also very solid as well.

Original 12/29/20 review:
Well, now I guess I need to do a whole dang Cosmere reread because I couldn't sleep after finishing after looking through spoiler discussion threads on who some mysterious folks might be (and also with several explicit references in this book to other systems). There's always another secret.

A solid book for adding lore, and confronting what's going on in the noggins of some of our Radiants. I particularly loved some of the more methodical chapters but, well, that's because I'm a scientist and really felt SpoilerNavani's research exhaustion and impostor syndrome.

As a reminder, Sanderson's website has the book art, and in color like the ebook (and audiobook digital file extras apparently) have, in case you wanted to see color on the Emul map or more detail on some of Shallan's illustrations.
