Bag Man: The Wild Crimes, Audacious Cover-Up, and Spectacular Downfall of a Brazen Crook in the White House by Michael Yarvitz, Rachel Maddow

4.0

If you thought Trump was the origin of the following: “the witch hunt”, attacks on the media (FakeNews), boldfaced lies to the public while doing the opposite behind closed doors, and personal attacks against his own government and the DOJ, then think again. Spiro Agnew was the originator of all of these tactics. This book explains the obscure origins of the incapability of our system to indict a corrupt president, and the criminal-immunity that office basks in, again, direct result of Agnew and Nixon. A demonstration of what a rat’s nest of crooks Washington has always been and the “swamp of corruption” politics is. All in all, nothing surprising, but here’s the evidence for all the stuff you’ve always heard about but politicians have always stated doesn’t exist.
