A novel worthy of more than a five star review, in my opinion. This story is like reading a fantastical discovery in need of exploration a whole century too early. I agree with the author (as she stated in the author's note section). I understand the characters' resolve but it is a pity-- in the sense that what they experienced is too incredible to destroy.
T. Kingfisher also mentioned that Poe's work left her wanting more, more explanations, more questions answered & it's exactly how I feel towards her book. Luckily, we at least get a sequel in February! Which falls on my birthday-- & if no one buys it for me, I will surely buy it for myself. A birthday present from me, to me.
