The Camelot Betrayal
by Kiersten White
First I want to thank NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book for an honest opinion.
As the second installment to the Camelot Rising Trilogy, it left some things to be desired. There’s still a great deal of plot and character building which is great. But we still are finding Guinevere to be the bad ass confident queen that she is supposed to be. She’s still is bumbling, cowering witch and is pining after someone who passed her a smile then tried to kill her in the woods. Like why?
Lancelot is coming into her own like the badass she is, however, her progress into knighthood is stunted by none other than Guinevere. Why? Because Guinevere likes to do stupid shit... Arthur let’s her do stupid shit... and who else is gonna make sure she doesn’t get killed doing the stupid shit? Lancelot.
New characters are introduced into the story and none are more interesting that Guinevere’s baby sister, who throws a wrench into the whole plan. Or so we though.. but that’s a different story entirely.
The story progresses slowly until about the 60% mark and so much happens at one time it’s hard to keep things together and we are left on an even bigger cliffhanger than the first book..
Now I need book three so see how Guinevere gets herself out of the shit show she put herself into.
Solid 3 stars.
