The Princess Diaries
by Meg Cabot
I never knew that the movie was a book adaptation [and i’ve been watching it since it came out].
So I was excited to read the book but it’s so difficult to read. Yes, it’s written in the form of a diary, i get it. And Mia is a young teenager. But good grief is she an absolute pill to read. Like reading the diaries of a whiny, bratty teenager.
It drives me up the walls. I found myself zoning out as I tried to read, glossing over chunks of texts.
I don’t know if I’ll continue onto the next book or simply drop it all together.
The movie, in my opinion is much better because of Julie Andrews and having Mia’s grandmother play the main role and cutting out Mia’s father all together.
