jmkizer 's review for:
The Dinner
by Herman Koch
4+ stars. I'm not sure what to say about it without giving away the plot. I guess I'll talk about the structure of the book a bit. It's organized starting at ApƩritifs and continues to after dinner coffee. All of the action occurs during that night -- the protagonist does have flashbacks to explain some of the evening's drama. And it is dramatic. And shocking.
Some of said that it's similar to Gone Girl but I think that the similarity begins and ends with darkness.
This would be a good discussion book.
