It is as good as you’ve been told it is. Good Omens features a level of playfulness and heart, while firmly hitting the mark for poignancy and the unfolding of its characters. Unlike the Amazon Prime series, it isn’t so charmed by the concept that it adds in pointless historical touchstones or regurgitative pop culture references. It nestles the reader down into a well-paced rhythm of cycling through vignettes of individuals, divine entities, and other such incorporated elements of creation as they move toward the fever pitch of Armageddon. Good Omens offers thoughtful & topical perspectives on witch hunts, prophecies, judgement, Christian dogmatics, and relationships. I enjoyed this book thoroughly and trust it would be well-worth your time.
