You Are Your Best Thing: Vulnerability, Shame Resilience, and the Black Experience
by Tarana Burke, Brené Brown
I loved this so deeply. And the audiobook was a perfect format for me to really connect with the essays. I loved hearing the essays in the authors' own voices. There were about two that didn't quite resonate with me and one in particular that felt completely off-topic. I was rolling my eyes so hard that it was dangerous to be driving and listening at the same time.
That one aside, I have enthusiastically shared this book with several folks, with a couple for whom I think I'm just going to buy it. Loved it. As heavy as it is, it's so necessary and timely.
