Did not finish book. Stopped at 61%.
DNF @ 61% (audiobook)
I was enjoying this. There were several points where I thought this might be fiction, and I was all for that. Then the shipwreck happened, and I found myself becoming much less emotionally invested in what was going on. THEN came the very graphic description of how they killed and ate the dog, and I really stopped caring. Listen, I get it. When people in life or death situations will do life or death things, and I totally get that it was eat or starve. There is, however, a very vast chasm of difference between knowing that happens and having that vivid level of detail happening to me, nevermind the fact that I was eating when that happened. I think I could have stuck it out if it was much less descriptive. I lost the entirety of my appetite.
I found that I had stopped paying attention to the audiobook somewhere between 53 and 61% and that I simply didn't care to go back and see what I'd missed. With all of that, I'm putting this down. It's not for me.
