This book kept giving me whiplash after whiplash (not in a good way) with the MMC. This man had zero communication skills, and was verbally abusive because he always jumped to the worse scenarios instead of listening to what she had to say first. A whole man child. The FMC problem was that she forgave him too easily, to the point that it felt disrespectful as if nothing had happened and she was ready to jump his bones.
This story could have been great if the miscommunication trope wasn’t used so heavily. I wish we could had actually seen the MMC working to fix his relationship with his sibling little by little instead of him having an epiphany after a comment from Charlotte. This would, have shown us more of his growth in a realistic way rather than the magic word from someone who makes him finally come to realization with the error of his ways (which happened was what happened every time!)
