caelypso 's review for:
The Storm Crow
by Kalyn Josephson
I just reread it and my feelings are mostly the same. I love the accurate representation of depression as well as all the POC representation as well as LGBTQ+. I still love Caylus and Thia together, even though I agree they could have been developed better with more scenes, but I live for their dynamic. Ericen, our favourite baddie with complicated background. I still like him a lot as a character but I wish we could have seen more of him and Thia's friendship as I felt too much of it was just told to us. I like that this diverged my expectations with Thia NOT falling in love with him as well, I stan that shit, at last, an arranged marriage that doesn't result in love. Also, I think I would have felt very uncomfortable with the relationship considering he's technically the son of her colonizer..? Yeah, anyways, loved the book even the second time around.
