My first ever Superman comic and it seemed like the perfect choice. Gunn had sighted this as one of the main inspirations for his recent adaptation, I was even given a copy of the first issue for free when I went to see the film! Morrison's exploration of the character is wonderful, putting Clark through a variety of out-this-world sci-fi mayhem, all of which focuses on Superman's greatest virtues - his kindness, his compassion, and his selflessness. A truly beautiful book, one that I will go back to in future for when I need an uplift.
