audiobook was read beautifully read by Ocean his voice perfectly matches the lyricism in this book.
Originally tried to read in 2019 and hard DNF-ed it because I was so bored, but we have grown as a character since then and can appreciate different forms of art lol.
This prose was stunning! The way that he weaves poetry all through this book and writes all of his characters with such sympathy was really nice to read. I like that tropes are often subverted and no one in this book behaves how you would expect them to 100% of the time.E.g. Trevor after little dog shits himself during sex, Little Dogs grandfathers whole marriage story and little dog still accepting him as his grandfather Ocean is very good at making you care for all of these characters and that makes it hit so much harder when the troubles of their life come to front.
