It Could Be Anyone by Jaime Lynn Hendricks
5.0

Thank you to Penzler Publishers and Jaime Lynn Hendricks for the advanced copy of It Could Be Anyone in exchange for my honest review.

Five best friends leave New York to attend their friend Fiona's destination wedding in Miami. By outward appearances, they are all happy and excited for the wedding. In reality, each of them has a motive for wanting the groom-to-be, Trevor, dead.

Trevor wormed his way into the friend group by gathering blackmail material on all of them, and at his insistence, all the friends must be supportive of his impending marriage to Fiona and convince her to go through with the wedding, despite their short courtship. When Trevor dies as the result of an allergic reaction at the wedding, readers are left wondering: in a room full of people with motives, who's guilty?

I thoroughly enjoyed this fast-paced thriller. We get POV chapters from all the friends in the group, and while sometimes that can get messy with more than 2-3 characters, I was never confused about who was who. Kudos to Jaime Lynn Hendricks for pulling that off so well. I also loved that there were so many mysteries within the ultimate mystery. It kept me turning pages quickly, as I couldn't wait to know what dirt Trevor had on everyone.

Without giving any spoilers, let's just say I'm thrilled (pun intended) that I'm not part of this friend group.
