Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn

4.0

This was probably my least favorite of Flynn's books, but I still did enjoy it. It was quite a twisted story where Camille is just as destructive to herself as any of the other forces working against her. Her mother is a piece of work and you wonder how anyone doesn't see through her facade. Her half-sister is trouble and every scene with her jumps off the page because she is so unpredictable. I'm really not sure what happened in Flynn's past to allow her to delve so deeply into this kind of human pain and cruelty, but she does an amazing job of conveying those expressions and feelings to the reader.
