Born a Crime: Stories From a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah

emotional funny inspiring sad medium-paced

3.75

I love Trevor Noah. His perspective of the world is so refreshing and I loved watching The Daily Show. This book really showed how he grew through hardship and many different experiences, trying to survive during his childhood and later on in life.

I loved the writing style and the audiobook narration as well. He's one of my favorite people in the world but I guess there was something missing about this book. And I was pissed off about the lack of justice his mother received. I rated it 3.75 stars because there were some points of this book that ended up being slow, but I also understand that when talking about someone's life, you don't get to pick and choose what they're going through and not everything is exciting all the time. The narration was solid throughout the book though.
