Spells for Lost Things by Jenna Evans Welch
5.0
This book was incredible. It was so sweet and heartfelt. From the moment I picked it up I was obsessed. Every time I read this book up I was just in such a good mood.
I loved the way this book was written and how the author was able to get so much personality into each character. I loved the dual POV and think that really helped to connect with the story and main characters. Both Mason and Willow are struggling with their identity and family life and I loved the way those issues were resolved. I think spending time in each perspective only added to the understanding and their development. I loved how they each had their own passion, for Willow it was traveling and for Mason it was astronomy.
I loved the setting and I think having been to Salem helped add to my love of this book. I think the author did a great job describing the town while adding in the history of Salem.
I loved all of the witchy elements through along with the astronomical elements. The two really complimented each other well and added so much to the story. I enjoyed the letters and the scavenger hunt as well. It was a fun plot point that helped move the story along but added a lot to the history of Willows family.
I honestly loved everything about this book. It’s the perfect YA novel with hints of romance, family, and adventure.
