This is my favorite book in the series hands down. If anyone deserves an HEA it’s Ollie and it was an utter delight to see him finally get his.
Ollie has three failed marriages under his belt (a fact which is friends and brother never let him forget) so you can imagine his horror at waking up after Cole and Ren’s bachelor party to find that he’s drunkenly gotten married to Ren’s best friend Daniel (a man who turned him down twice.)
When they go downstairs the next morning, Ollie is prepared for an onslaught of ribbing from his friends, but Daniel (fed up with the way the guys tease Ollie) tell them all the marriage is real. Of course, this is the Four Bears crew so a bet is made that Ollie and Daniel won’t last 8 months (a month longer than Ollie’s longest marriage).
Daniel and Ollie are both fantastic characters. I love how much Ollie wants love and a relationship, and is honest about it even when he gets teased for it. He is genuinely a marshmallow of a man, and I adore him for it. Daniel is the exact opposite. He has no interest in a relationship and he doesn't actually believe in love. But, the fact that he is willing to sell this fake relationship to defend Ollie just makes my little heart happy.
When I say these two deserve each other I mean that in literally the best way possible. Ollie absolutely deserves someone who is willing to stick up for him. And Daniel absolutely deserves someone who supports him and treats him with love and kindness. I think what I love most about this is how slowly Ollie and Daniel fall in love. They don’t have this idealized vision of the other, but rather the love they have has grown out of truly knowing the other person.
Three Thoughts:
1. I absolutely wish I could have seen Daniel rip Cole, Ev, and Stone a new one after their “prank” in the bar.
2. The resolution in this book was *chef’s kiss*
3. As if I couldn't love him more, Ollie supporting and encouraging Daniel to follow his dreams was about the sweetest thing ever.
This was fantastic from start to finish, and I cannot recommend this enough.
content warnings: sex (on page), pet snake, toxic previous relationships
