Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky by Kwame Mbalia

3.5 This book was fascinating. I’ve never read anything like it. I love that it is based in African and Black American folktales/myths. It made for super unique storytelling. I did have a really hard time grasping the world as a whole. I could never quite picture what it looked like.

Also would like to note, I finished this book on audiobook and it made me wish I listened to the whole thing that way. The voice actor was AMAZING and had incredible voices and accents that brought the story to life.
