The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty

2.0

turns out, the scariest part of this story is how incredibly difficult it is to get this little girl an exorcism!!

seriously, this book has maybe 3 disturbing scenes, and the rest of it is a bunch of adults arguing about whether or not this literal child who is swearing, levitating, reading people's minds, moving objects with her mind, and KILLING A MAN is in need of psychiatric and/or religious help. by the halfway mark, i was keeping the audiobook on while i did other things just so i could get through it.

my advice to anyone who hasn't already read this would be to save yourself the time and energy, just watch the movie.
