This had a lot of promise, and the premise sucked me in right away, but I personally didn't enjoy it much outside of the wintery setting and general mystery. The1st reason for this is the way it was written. For the majority of the book, the story is told in a combination of diary entries and dialog, which would have been fine if there were a clear distinction, but a lot of the time, the conversation would start in the diary entry and then randomly halfway through it would change to almost a script format which was odd. Additionally, the actual plot twist didn't make sense! I won't spoil anything but the "why" behind everything felt kind of lazy and nonsensical. The ending was interesting, but then the story quickly ended, so it left much to be desired. But it served its purpose for a quick holiday read.
