Lost by M. Sinclair
lighthearted
mysterious
medium-paced
4.0
No strong representation of diverse characters or minority identities.
Quick Thoughts: I really enjoyed Lost... I think M. Sinclair has the perfect recipe for unique reverse harem romance Heroes will maintaining their shared protective and possessiveness over the Heroine.
Why not 5-stars? The info-dumping — setting up the world, character background, the importance of the university, etc. — went on and on and on. There were honestly pages that I skimmed because of the info-dumping. Perhaps worse, more than 3/4 of the information could’ve been integrated into the dialogue or the plot. It’s a clue when a character says something in dialogue (not monologue) to another character which sets off *pages* of an explanation and then that same character “gets back on track” and is all, “As I said before...” 🙈. If you’re saying “as I said before” it’s too soon to be repeating that information! Readers actually do retain information, especially if it concerns world-building.
Safety Rating: Safe
• No cheating
• No OW/OM
• Does have two of the Heroes pushing the Heroine away
• No separation
Possible Triggers: Yes
• Sexism
• Threat of r@pe
• Gender-Base violence
• Abusive parental relationship
• Brief mention of sexual abuse of one of the Heroes when he was a child (under 18)
• Physical assault
Ending:Cliffhanger
