I love the way Sarah Dessen writes. The way she weaves the character reflecting on her life and the character in present day is incredible. I love the male protagonists, all different yet have the same qualites of kindness and honesty- Dave is one of my favourite. I love how direct he is. He's geeky, considerate and his obsession with basketball. Finally, I love how her main character's are flawed, instead of rushing to a boy to fix her problems she overcomes her fear of abandonment, fear of instability, fear of imperfections etc. Then she falls in love. What happened to Goodbye is honestly one of my favourite books, and I loved all the major characters as well as the minors. P.S. We need a story about Jason Talbot ASAP.
