Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire
5.0

One of my favorite bands writes what they call “tiny songs” which is all of the good of a song and none of the bad. They’re always shorter. This story reminded me of that, it wasn’t long and it didn’t need to be!

It was thoughtful and tender, cruel and crude, and the many characters were individual and important, even in the few pages they were given. I loved it!
