I love Gretchen Rubin’s work on happiness and habits. I love that she takes the personalized approach and realizes that every person is different and not all fixes or tricks will work for everyone.
That being said, I don’t recommend this book to anyone with an eating disorder or who is struggling with their relationship with food or their body image. Gretchen tells a lot of stories about her own journey with “healthy eating” and her weight; this content can be triggering for someone who is struggling with their body image or an eating disorder. That being said it’s easy to skip some of those sections if the reader/listener is in a good enough mental space.
Overall, Gretchen is down to earth and reasonable. Her theories are based in her experiences and research she’s done and she’s funny.
