"Every bit of Eros formidable attention is focused on me. The realization is one of the headiest moments of my life. This man is mine. Maybe not in truth, maybe not forever, but for right now"

I picked this up immediately after I finished Neon Gods, and again I really enjoyed the read. First, I love the way Katee Robert's writes a plus sized character. It made me really happy that her body is not the focal point of her entire story, but she is a romantic lead that is desired, deemed attractive, socially savvy, and an overall complex character. I liked that it was a part of her story, and felt seen by her view of the world, clothing, and romance. I just thought it was really tasteful, well done, and great to read about.
Eros is this dashing but damaged goods hero that I absolutely swoon for. The parts from his perspective were some of my favorite moments. His descriptions of Psyche are so whimsical to read.
Since reading two of Robert's books, I have noticed that each of the characters thus far have passingly mentioned some involvement in queer relationships. Eros mentions being with men, women, and nonbinary people, and Psyche recalls a time she was physical with a girl. While I really appreciate the subtle mentions of lgbtq relationships, I am hoping that in the next books we will get an lgbt relationship or nonbinary character. I really like the way it is introduced in a casual way, but I am hoping for more in coming books.
Overall, this book was really great. I felt like it leaned much more in the social politics, and I felt myself really drawn in to the different issues they were facing. The character relationships were really great and I have to say, I can not wait to hear more from Helen. How great.
In the end when we find out Psyche has hidden a camera and used it to trap Aphrodite, I gasped aloud. I did not see it coming and was wonderfully suprissed. I love that the sunshine character Psyche is also shown as being strategic and brilliant. I thought it was a really great way to wrap up their conflict, and I thought it was a really great ending. It set up for the next book really well, Eris rising to be Aphrodite added an interesting tie to the next books. I can not say enough how much I loved that moment for Psyche
