Relics of Ruin by Erin M. Evans

4.0

While I enjoyed the first book in this trilogy, I remember it being a quite confusing and slow read. For some reason, this second book was the complete opposite for me! I’m very grateful that the author included a resume of book one and while I still think that the world is confusing (yet intriguing), I flew through this. I really enjoyed how character focused this story was, we learned a lot about their respective backstories and personalities, and learning about the world and its mysteries through their eyes worked very well. Erin M. Evans is really great at writing mysteries and conspiracies. Multiple times I thought I figured stuff out to be proved wrong in the next chapter. I’m really excited to see how the whole story will conclude in the next book.
If you’re looking for a highly political fantasy story with mystery and confusing, I can really recommend this series! 4 stars.
