The back and forth nature of the story was fun. It was a nice little story until the very last page when Caroline THROWS THE VIAL BACK IN THE RIVER??!?!??
I am not sure I can remember the last time I read such a disappointing ending.It gives Titanic (the movie) vibes. Which also had a terrible ending: The only thing the book was missing was Celine Dion singing My Heart Will Go On. .
Three stars because it was probably a 4 star book - nice to read but not an epic tale - right until the end. Lost a star for the ending. Because: WTF?
