The Fragments by Toni Jordan
5.0
This book is two inter-connecting stories told in two time periods - Brisbane in the 1980s, and New York in the 1930s. Usually with dual stories I find myself more connected to one story than the other, impatient to get through the 'historical' bit to the contemporary bit, or the other way around; however, in this book I was equally engrossed in and intrigued by each of the stories. I didn't want either of them to end. This is a book with heroines in each time period that you understand, care deeply about, relate and respond to, and are fully engaged with. And it is a brilliant literary mystery with an ending worthy of a thriller. I absolutely loved it.
