~Quick Review~
While Mockingjay is certainly not as good as the first novel in the series, it is an excellent conclusion to this classic and timeless trilogy.

~Book Description (via Goodreads)~
Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she's made it out of the bloody arena alive, she's still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what's worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss's family, not her friends, not the people of District 12.

~Characters~
Mockingjay brang a new perspective to Katniss, as we see her at her weakest points in this novel, not just her strongest. I found this greatly developed her character so that she seemed human, someone who had weaknesses and didn’t triumph no matter what. I also enjoyed viewing her interactions with both Gale and Peeta side by side, as I got to see who I thought she was a better match with. (I’m totally Team Peeta!)

~Writing and Setting~
As always, Collins’ writing style was captivating and descriptive at all the right parts.

I don’t have much to comment on with the setting, just that the world-building has been solidly great throughout the series.

~Plot~
I honestly felt that the majority of the novel was slow moving. For some odd reason, I just could not get into Mockingjay as well as I could with the first two books in the series, which was disappointing. Nevertheless, the story itself was well written and seems well thought out.

~Overall Review~
I’m very glad that I decided to read The Hunger Games series, and highly recommend that you do as well, especially if you love dystopian novels!
