I really enjoyed this book. It was surprisingly grounded in very human emotions and experiences. As someone with anxiety & depression who also works in an office, it really captured the intricate social dynamics perfectly. This book wonderfully balanced so many complicated relationship dynamics, and I really enjoyed every second of reading it. Every character was mature and complex and—again—very human. I loved that the external conflicts were secondary to the Jolene's internal conflict, and that the two informed one another. For every moment of second-hand embarrassment, there were equally moments of sincerity, which made the story feel balanced and grounded. I'd totally recommend this book to anyone looking for a fast, entertaining, funny, and earnest portrayal of adulthood.
Moderate: Bullying, Cancer, Death, Grief, Death of parent
Minor: Domestic abuse, Toxic relationship
