After That Night by Karin Slaughter
5.0

Trigger warning: Anyone who has been sexually assaulted might have trouble with some very graphic parts of the story.

When the Will Trent TV show started, I had to separate Will, Faith, Amanda and others from their depictions in the books. This is the first Will Trent book I've read since the series, so it was hard to read the name without picturing the TV character. But when I was able to separate them again, all was well.

Anyway, the story begins with a rape trial in which Will's fiancee, Dr. Sara Linton is a witness. It brings back memories of her rape 15 years earlier. Then the mother of the man who is on trial -- who has a long history with Sara -- tells her that her rape and the rape of the woman at the center of the trial are related.

Will, Faith and Sara uncover a sick scheme that goes back years and years and, just as they're about to tie it all up there's a shocking twist.

This is one of the best Will Trent books, in my opinion.
