I read this one immediately after reading the first. (I LOVED the first book by the way) now that I am finally finished, I LOVED it.

At first I thought it was very slow paced, but as I got towards the ending I understood the build up to how the book ended and it all came together beautifully.

Let’s take pause because SADIE what on earth was that ENDING?!? I honestly wanted to put my kindle in the bathtub, but I see what you did there because now I am eager for the next book in the series. After reading that epilogue I HOPE THERE IS A NEXT BOOK. There has to be I will not be okay with that ending because what you did…ma’am. Fix it.

This was a lovely fantasy, a bit on the high fantasy side imo. Many characters to love (or dislike), different worlds with very detailed descriptions of each. Some romance nestled in between. (Sadie I’m scowling at you right now)

This book was packed with supernatural beings and learning about each was so fun. The way the “afterlife” was depicted was very creative and I enjoyed reading about it and imagining it.

A great read. I have now read all 3 of Sadie’s books and they are all wonderful so be sure to check out The Audient and the Phantom Night, As the Fallen Rise (book 1 to the book featured in the review) you’ll thank me.
