Jane Eyre (in Spanish) by Charlotte Brontë

4.0

I really, really liked the first half.

The second was, the treatment of Bertha, the drudging Rivers plot, the gaslighting and clear abuse, racism and manipulation by Rochester.

But I also cannot deny that up until the wedding I was compelled, I felt deeply for Jane, her mental health was explored, I liked that she stood her ground and that Charlotte Brontë explored the hypocrisy of upper crust society.

I am very torn.
