Walk the Edge by Katie McGarry
4.0

It was good, but it seemed a bit lengthy.... Like it was filled with fluff....

As a huge fan of the Pushing the Limits series, I was super excited that McGarry was making another contemporary romance series. I loved the first book Nowhere But Here, so I just KNEW I needed to get my hands on this one!
Razor is part of the club that everyone fears. Breanna is the smart girl who's brain that everyone fears. The two of them together should be scary, but they equal more of a team. And they begin to once someone begins to blackmail Breanna over a compromising picture that involves Razor. With Razor already being in a position to disobey the club, he follows Breanna to make sure she stays ok. Until the inevitable happens... His past comes back to haunt him and Breanna's future approaches faster than she thought.
I loved Razor. I thought he was badass but still such a freaking sweetheart. And to top it off, he was not what everyone put him out to be. I hate stereotypes and I love when people break them down. It made me happy that he didn't try to conform to what everyone made him to be. Through it all, he was still his own person. Tortured, but still his own person.
And then there was Breanna. I had a bit of a problem with her. Reason being... She had so much to say about rumors and yet she LIVED by them. I rolled my eyes so many times because she kept saying what other people were saying and I was done with it. She was a walking example of how people were saying things that weren't true about people. It was like she didn't learn anything. I also felt really bad for her. She wanted to fit in so bad, where as my mantra has always been to be your own person and screw who doesn't like it. Butttt I know that wasn't how she felt. It hurt to see that she cared so much about everyone else.
The only real problem I had with this book was the length. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but it seemed fluff filled. Looking at my actual book, my sticky tabs don't even start until page 200 something. I just think the first hundred or so pages could've been thinned out. I do love fluff and details, but sometimes, too much is too much. Especially in a contemp romance, it just seemed like this was a bit too long.
As for the romance, I really liked seeing them together. They had a lot of things in common even though they didn't want to admit it. And as far as the ending, I can honestly say it was a realistic ending. it wasn't what I was expecting, but I can definitely see that happening in real life.
I really love McGarry's writing style and I can't wait to see what else comes up in this series. I did my best to not read the chapter from the next book, but I saw who it was about and it made me fall for it even more. I can't wait until McGarry's next book!
