Lazarus, Vol. 1: Family by Greg Rucka

4.0

This was only my fourth graphic novel I have read ever, but when I saw the word dystopian how could I refuse?

I am really glad that I grabbed this.

I needed something new and fresh and this did the trick to get me out of a slump I was in. I thought the graphic world was vivid and realistic. I was sucked in by all the characters and kept picturing this as a movie in my head. I felt tension, greed, lust, and aggressive pour out of the graphics in his novel. I couldn't stop turning the pages and I even sucked in my breath a few times. I don't claim to be a comic expert at all--but I am finding that I appreciate the graphic novels very much when I find ones I like. I get so absorbed with the combination of past paced story and art that it is the perfect day read when I need something different in my reading palette.

If you are into graphic novels I highly recommend this one! It will leave you on the edge of your seat and begging for more!
