Some People Need Killing: A Memoir of Murder in My Country by Patricia Evangelista

I think the titular thesis is the most impactful part of this book. It explores how people could fall victim to a hive mindset to such an extent as to disregard people’s humanity enough to let them be murdered in plain sight by the government. It is such a relevant topic and the author tells it through the lives of those impacted by a recent regime in the Philippines as seen throughout her career as a journalist.
