Beautifully written account of the generations affected by immigration & the Japanese internment during WWII. Multiple characters offer perspectives at different stages of their lives, in relation to the actions of Emi, the young woman in their family who had two children out of wedlock. Some elements are left without answers or a sense of closure but overall it is authentic & moving in its emotional resonance.
