The Will of the Many by James Islington
Did not finish book. Stopped at 15%.
At about 15% of the way in (90ish pages in), this book isn't landing for me right now. I might pick it up at a later time. It clearly has a lot of great reviews so I may just not be in the right mood/mindset for this book right now.
The book doesn't ease the reader into the world. The world & vocabulary of the world is thrown at the reader with little discernable difference between what information you need to hang onto and what information is just colorful world building. The main character feels very flat with little compelling me to want to know more about the character. And the writing at times is very cumbersome. I'm having to read certain sentences 3 or 4 times to find the cadence of how it should be read so that the sentence actually makes sense. These halting sentences take me out of the story, making it difficult to stay immersed or engaged in the story.
