The Road of Bones by Demi Winters
5.0

Road of Bones is exactly the kind of Viking based fantasy that I have been yearning for. I was absolutely gobsmacked by this book. Demi absolutely NAILED a multi-POV story. Each switch was perfectly time for you to be wholly wrecked emotionally and mentally. I swear my brain was crowing with glee the entire time. There are no lulls in this story, no slow parts that dragged or made you want to pause. If I had time to read this book in one sitting I absolutely would have.

The FMC Silla is on a quest through the treacherous Road of Bones. She quickly realizes that she cannot survive alone and sneaks into the supply wagon of fellow travelers. Unfortunately, this wagon belonged to the Bloodaxe Crew. Silla must figure out a way to convince this group to allow her to travel with them… but they might be as dangerous as the road itself. Let me tell you, the two leaders of the Bloodaxe Crew are both terrifying and ruggedly charming. I was absolutely gnawing at my enclosure and barking throughout her interactions with those two large warrior men. One was a walking red flag and the other was mean as hell. Swoon. My jaw stayed on the floor I swear.

The ending of this book was everything. I’m utterly obsessed. Gobsmacked. Immediately reading book 2. This is a new god tier book.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
• Viking meets fairytale inspired romantasy
• multiple POVs
• enemies to lovers
• nicknames
• just when you think you know, you don’t
• secrets, lies, and betrayals
• found family
• “f— it” moments
• banter
• spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (a few on page, moderately explicit scenes)
