Duck! I was not expecting to love this one as much as Mother Faker but I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite between the two. They’re written by two different authors so I thought there would be issues with continuity between the two but there wasn’t. These two volumes flowed together seamlessly with the details matching up, but the different authors meant that the two FMCs had different and distinctive voices. It was brilliant. I loved everything about Dylan and Cortney and the way they interacted with each other and the people in their lives.

We got to see a different side to the characters in this one that wasn’t as obvious in the last book. Mother Faker mentioned Boss Man’s tendency to manipulate people and stuff his foot in his mouth in awkward ways, but we didn’t get to see that as clearly as we did in this book. So many of the characters' oddities and personalities were developed further in this book and if I could give the author higher marks than a 5 star and 5 heart rating than I would. It was excellent.

I also realized I’m a big fan of Maxine Mitchell. She was great in book 1 but she exceeded all my expectations in book 2. I’m going to have to find books she narrates just to listen to them because the woman has mad skills as a narrator. And if my new found love of Ms. Mitchell wasn’t enough, my ears were in auditory heaven with Teddy Hamilton’s naughty whispers and Blue Nose Audio’s excellent mix of narration and sound.

In short, if you want a book that will make you laugh, fall in love with the characters, and rev your engine, then go get your copy of this one ASAP.
