Holy moly was that thrilling! Parts were a little bit predictable, but that didn’t matter because it was more about how people are sometimes blinded from the obvious by love. The characters are wonderful, I loved how she gave us the past without giving away too much (can we say future prequel, anyone??). It kept me very invested. I also really like the sort of parallel she has going with this story and the history of Jamaica winning its freedom from Britain against all odds. Subtle but pretty great! I’m just bummed that I have to wait for the next book(s). Also DRAGONS.
